The Orchard

Quonquont has 3 acres of blueberries
and more than 10 acres of apple and peach orchards. Our trees are
maintained using Integrated Pest Management techniques, relying on
natural pest predators and a minimum amount of spraying. Hand-thinning
apples and peaches in June promotes flavorful fruit of a nice size
at harvest time. Semi-dwarf trees allow customers easy access for
picking.

Tree-ripened fruit is naturally
fresher and contains more nutrients than most supermarket fruit which
is often picked "green," stored and shipped long distances.
Our apple varieties ripen from late August through late September
and include favorites like Paula Red, Gala, McIntosh, Cortland, Macoun,
Jonagold, Golden Delicious and Northern Spy. These are varieties suited
to hot summers and crisp falls, which combine with rocky soils to
create distinctive New England flavor.
